Boko Haram: Kankara Schoolboys Arrive Katsina

Many days after they were abducted by Boko Haram terrorist group, hundreds of students of the Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, have arrived Katsina State, Bibian Anekwe News learnt.

The PUNCH reported that the students who were captured by the dreaded group since last Friday were returned to the state with the help of security men.

Bibian Anekwe News understands that the Kankara Schoolboys were released on Thursday, December 17, 2020.

The development was confirmed in a statement by the Katsina State government through the Secretary to the State Government, Mustapha Inuwa.

Inuwa in an interview with the BBC Hausa service on Thursday noted that about 340 abducted schoolboys have been released, adding that the students are already on their way to Katsina city and are expected to arrive there a few hours past midnight.

Reports emerging a few moments ago confirmed that the students were led to an expansive hall in the Government House where they were received by Governor Aminu Masari.

Meanwhile, Masari had on Thursday night confirmed that the 344 abducted schoolboys were at Tsafe, Zamfara State, and would be transported to Kankara on Friday.

The governor confirmed that no ransom was paid before the boys were released.
