GOV. UGWUANYI; A PERSONIFICATION OF EXCELLENCE. (SEASON ONE.)
As we live our lives, we feel an admissible evidence to prove that excellence is not an act but a habit, even as we learnt from the Classical Aristotle that ” excellence is never an accident. It is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, and intelligent execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives…” So, in a nutshell, if we subscribe to the submission of the brave Sun Tzu that “supreme excellence consists in breaking the enemy’s resistance without fighting,” then we will as well start appreciating the strands of excellence that keep defining the leadership machinery oiled by Rt. Hon. Dr . Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi( Mr Fulfilment) the executive governor of Enugu state.
From the four corners of any sensitive perception, one would learn that Governor Ugwuanyi’s administration is a pragmatic platform with unquenchable relish for elegance, style and sophistication which combine to imbue Gburu Gburu’s innovativeness with the touch of excellence.
For the fact that he has been found worthy of enviable awards from reputable organisations and neutral pedestals across the globe is a constant indicator that Governor Ugwuanyi is a character who is delighted by walking the talk and like the quick-witted William. M. Thackeray admitted that the only thing “… next to excellence is the appreciation of it,” then we shouldn’t mind standing proudly tall for Gburu Gburu.
Having served in the legislative arm of government, Mr. Fulfillment had garnered the requisite experience to help him pilot the executive arm and of course he has proven to be a sound experiment in the implementation of policies as much as he can make laws and checkmate the executives. I stand to be corrected but I feel that if the present governor of Enugu State had pursued his career as a professional writer, he would have become a PROLIFIC writer as he keeps delivering in every sector with ease to the extent that any meticulous witness quickly discovers like the perspicacious Shana Alexander that the “… the sad truth is that excellence makes people nervous, ” because those that expected Gburu Gburu to be a renegade on his promises have since been mesmerised by his unrivalled implementation of essential policies and trending developmental treads.
As a leader who is neither found wanting in native intelligence nor in street wisdom, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi knew that charity begins at home and he kicked off his job with the upgrading and expansion of the major town in his Enugu North Senatorial District; Nsukka town and its neighbourhoods and today the people of that zone cannot claim not to have benefited maximally from the excellence defining Governor Ugwuanyi’s leadership astuteness. Today, a standard stadium is fast rising in Nsukka town alongside other developmental advances taking place all at the same time to the Glory of God but as a credit to Gburu Gburu’s impacts as a governor of Enugu state. Indeed, Mr. Fulfilment..welcomes every puzzle as an opportunity to prove his political mettle expressing the embedment of excellence in his character.
When he learnt that one of the recurrent decimals in the political tone of the society is the urgency of youths inclusion in government, Governor Ugwuanyi as a youthful leader speedily co-opted a lot of substantial youths into his team of professionals and technocrats for equitable distribution and management of the common resources of the state for the common good of all, without excluding the common man. To me, such attitude should be applauded and not jettisoned.
When Mr. Fulfillment saw that the education system needed urgent attention, he took a step for excellence by recruiting, training and empowering more than ten thousand state teachers through the Post Primary School Management Board (PPSMB) for effective and quality education and stepped further to upgrade, renovate and remodel our state higher institutions. Today, barely, all the state higher educational institutions can’t deny the echoes of Ugwuanyi’s leadership . To me, such predilections towards qualitative education, training and research is nothing less than a pure demonstration of excellence.
Having known from time ab initio that most of the remote and rural areas in the state had not received adequate governmental presence, the Ugwuanyi-led Enugu state directed its calculations to favour the previously forlorn nooks and crannies of the state with regards to the provision of the basic social amenities and today all can testify to the magnitude and magnificence of the excellence embodying such decision.
As we pause for some necessary regurgitations, the factual backups enmeshing the personality of His Excellency, Rt Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the Executive Governor of Enugu State in the figurative personification of excellence keep piling up, we resolve to keep them in the precious achive of exceptional achievers in subsequent editions.
