Again, his Excellency, Rt. Honorable Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi takes another bold step to consolidate on his mission to take even development to all nooks and crannies of the state. One of the oft argued debate about perceived marginalization and uneven development is the concentration of government and it’s extant agencies in few locations while neglecting quite a few others. There is no gain saying that the localization of institutions of government is often driven or determined by such primordial sentiments as clan or political proclivity. It is truly a rarity in our contemporary time to have a leader who is egalitarian in nature to push for equality and equal treatment of all sections of the society.
When, governor Ifeanyichukwu Ugwuanyi mounted the rostrum to emphasize his service compact with the people of Enugu State in 2015, one of the things he mentioned as being dear to his heart is to prioritize rural urban renewal and development that would exponentially stem the migration to the urban centers and giving the cities undue pressures in available social amenities and services. It is therefore his vision to replicate what is found in the cities in the rural areas. And in clear line of this vision, his government have never hidden it’s avowance to transform the rural communities all through to an enviable height. Deriving from the aforementioned objectives, he has continued to innovate means and manners to speed up rural development and bring governance closer to the people. This would be seen in his recent creation of additional developmental centers totalling 12 across the 3 Senatorial zones of the state.
Those who have ever craved for speedy and qualitative development will no doubt have them courtesy of the uncommon courage on display by the current administration of Ugwuanyi. The newly created 12 developmental areas will no doubt have administrative offices with retinue of staff, have budgetary allocations and would in themselves be empowered to initiate developmental projects in their domain to close the yawning gap in the provision of social infrastructures to more remote hinterlands. It is expected with this recent move that Enugu state would have an all round development and in a manner never seen before since the creation of the state.
Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi is an enigma of sort who truly understand the language of government largely motivated by the passion for goodness and the proclivity for good governance.
Truly Enugu state is in the able hands of God.
