Rumours about the intentions of the former Lagos State governor Bola Tinubu to contest for Nigeria presidency in 2023 are beginning to appear true.
Leading politicians in the Yoruba-dominated southwestern state have vowed to back the national leader of the All Progressives Congress to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari.
A senator representing Oyo North, AbdulFatai Buhari, has said he will back Tinubu as Nigeria’s president in 2023 if he decides to run.
Buhari made the remarks in an interview with journalist Edmund Obilo on Thursday, September 24, 2020. Asked if Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi was really fighting Bola Tinubu, Buhari said it was not true.
“If he wants to be President, I will support him. I will campaign for him.”
