Alhaji Nnaji’s Testimony – A Validation of the Economic Wonders of Governor Ugwuanyi and his Peace Project in Enugu

IEP finds that every 1 percent improvement in peace corresponds to a 2.9 per cent growth in real GDP per capita. An Academia, Unmana Sarangi believes that “positive peace” tends to grow in an environment of “negative peace.” In other words, states in conflict and war, or oppressive states, tend to see negative economic growth, while the absence of violence corresponds highly to economic growth, availability of housing, medicare, and development of social institutions and products that serve areas related to positive peace. Hence, positioning the testimony of Alhaji Sani Friday Nnaji as an undeniable monumental fact.

Peace is to the economy what manure is to plants. It provides the necessary nutrient for rapid and flamboyant economic growth in a host state. When Governor Ugwuanyi chose stable peace as propagated by the Economist, Kenneth Boulding as the epi-centre of his administration’s working guide, the master planner must have envisaged that other component of a governmental system cannot thrive in a chaotic atmosphere or environment.

Permit me to state that the reported testimony of the good farmer, Alhaji Friday Nnaji from Mbu in Isi Uzo local government area of the state while commending Gov Ugwuanyi’s Peace efforts in the state averred that Gburus entrenchment of peace in his administrative style has created an enabling ground for farmers to produce more food in the state and presents more opportunity to try out other other foods foreign to Igbo soil which yielded positive output is an understatement.

Let me take you through a bit. Real Estate business is currently booming in Enugu state courtesy of the stable peace project of the amiable Odoziobodo, the peace ambassador, Rt.Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi. How? Peace loving persons from other states now troop into Enugu state to either buy land, build houses, or to let permanent apartments in the state. This has brought about sporadic increase in the number of new layouts and estates springing up here and there in Enugu State.

Our local markets such as New Market, Ogbuete Market, Kenyatta, even Afia Nine in Obiagu area are not left behind in the economic boom owing to the influx of persons into Enugu whose primary attraction is the peace enjoyed in Enugu state made possible by the Never-Tiring and Never-Know-Sleep Gov Ugwuanyi. “Peace is liberty in tranquility,” said Marcus Tullius Cicero. Eleanor Roosevelt asserted in one of his works “it isn’t enough to talk about peace. One must believe in it. And it isn’t enough to believe in it. One must work at it.” When we call Governor Ugwuanyi a Stable Peace Project Ambassador, it isn’t because we think he believes in it, or that the permanent good man preaches it, no! Governor Ugwuanyi had been rather deliberate with the issues of peace since he assumed leadership of Ndi Enugu. This is part of the reason John F. Kennedy affirmed that Peace is a daily, weekly, and a monthly process, gradually changing opinions, slowly eroding old barriers, quietly building new structures.

Ndi Enugu, the testimony of Alhaji Nnaji and those of others on the successful entrenchment of Peace in the state validates the economic, social and political wonders of Governor Ugwuanyis dexterous efforts. Uneasy lies that head that wears the crown, hence, the need to keep praying for our Governor and his team of remarkable technocrats.
