Your Excellency, Rt Hon Ifeanyi Lawrence Ugwuanyi, the hope of the hopeless poor, the empowerer of men, leadership in human flesh, the leader who picks nobodies and re-brand them into respectable and powerful tools of good governance, the governor whose love for humanity and the helpless has penetrated almost all the nooks and crannies of the 17 Local Government Areas.
Your Excellency, your life has become God’s divine tool through which he blesses men, women and children. The poor who enjoy your everflowing unconditional scholarships in various schools thank God for your life. The poor and the helpless widows in Enugu and beyond whom the air of your gracious philanthropy has touched their life thank God today for giving you to Ndi Enugu.
In your Christ-like leadership style, you have taught all the youths like me who you mentor without knowing that leadership should be the poor-oriented-system instead of that system which keeps enriching the rich and empoverishes the poor. Your Excellency, your style of politics has taught we, your followers not to reward our haters or those who want to bring us down with hatred but love and kindness. You have taught us that the sons and daughters of nobody can be somebody in Enugu.
Your world class humility humbles the proud and brings the strong to his knees, Your Excellency.
On this day being your birthday, I join my voice to the voice of the innumerable voices of the needy whose frowned faces you graciously lit with ocean of smile to pray for God’s divine protection, more wisdom, improved sound health, higher political opportunities and longer life embodied in undiluted peace of mind and self-fulfilment upon you.
